Second Annual Affair of the Arts Festival in Downtown Culver City This Saturday and Sunday

The Whole 9 Art Gallery and online community presents the 2nd Affair of The Arts” on June 7 and 8 in downtown Culver City at the intersection of Culver Blvd. and Main Street. The free outdoor festival showcases 60 of Southern California's premiere painters, photographers, sculptors, and glass, ceramics and jewelry artists and also includes live music. Proceeds from the festival will support the construction of 200 “instant houses” for families who lost their homes to Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. A highlight of the event will be the on-site construction of one of the dwellings to be painted and otherwise adorned by exhibiting artists.
Adults and children alike are invited to participate in free workshops and interactive art projects led by Whole 9 artists, including creating wind chimes using materials from dwellings destroyed by the typhoon.
“For the past three years, we’ve been using the power of’s artists’ community to fuel change through the non-profit Peace Project’s local and international initiatives. Producing an arts festival is a natural extension that helps create another link between art and change, “ says Lisa Schultz, Founder of and The Peace Project.
