The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Shoes for the Homeless -- a Culver City-based non-profit organization -- will hold its Second Annual Benefit on Thursday, February 27, from 6 to 8 pm at the Wende Museum in Culver City. Shoes for the Homeless provides shoes to the homeless and to those in need, free of charge, in our local communities. The organization collects lightly-used men’s, women’s and children’s shoes and passes them onto local organizations that directly serve the homeless and those in need -- such as rescue missions and women shelters.
Tickets for the benefit are $25 per person and are available HERE. The Wende Museum is located at 5741 Buckingham Parkway, Suite E. The evening will include a museum tour, food, speakers, a raffle and more.
The organization's vision goes like this: "Homeless men, women and children in our local communities are in great need of shoes. It is our vision and goal to help these individuals by providing them with a good pair of shoes. Since walking is often the only mode of transportation for the homeless, proper fitting shoes that offer adequate support are vitally important. Shoes provide both comfort as well as foot protection."
