Blind Barber in Culver City is bit of a curveball. From the outside, it looks like a simple, if sign-less, barber shop. Peek through the window and, sure enough, there's your standard receptionist and a man in one of the barber chairs getting a shave. But there's bit of a secret behind a nondescript door on the back wall: there's a bar back there. Checking the Blind Barber website, sure enough, it says they offer "cuts, shaves, and cocktails."
Recently, Minty.com checked out the goods, advising you to, "...confidently go to the unmarked door at the back of the storefront and push yourself into a dark speakeasy-style bar."
Minty tries The Sweeney Todd (Jameson, lemon, honey, egg whites, Creole bitters), the Ma Dukes (Milagro reposado tequila, blackberries, lemongrass, basil), and the Bonnie & Clyde (described as "like a whiskey sour with a heavy citrus note), not too mention snacks like "Taleggio, Hen of the Woods and Shitake grilled cheese with aged truffle oil." Overall, Minty's review is so-so, but he does praise the place's fun vibe.
