Waterloo & City Will Close; Southern(ish) Food Restaurant 'The Hatchet Hall' Will Take its Place

According to the LA Weekly and LA Eater, Culver City's Waterloo & City will close in the beginning of 2015. That's the bad news. The good news is that there's already a restaurant lined up to take its place. Southern-leaning restauranteur Brian Dunsmoor will be launching The Hatchet Hall in its place in March.

Dunsmoor was previously the chef at The Hart & the Hunter, the restaurant in the Palihotel on Melrose that offered dishes like Low-Country Shrimp Boil with corn, sausage and potatoes.  After that, he opened a restaurant on Sawtelle in West LA with the awkward name of 'The Ladies Gunboat Society at Flores,' which offered chicken fried rabbit, stuffed quail, fried hot chicken livers, and the like.

I, for one, will be waiting to see what he comes up with for this new concept and location
