The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Every other Friday, I post a picture of something in Culver City that is 'hiding in plain sight.' Two weeks ago I asked: Do you know where in Culver City all this Love is?
"Where Am I" all-star Luis Lopez correctly identified it as the corner of Hayden Ave and Warner Dr. in Culver City.
The wall is the eye-catching emblem of Smashbox Studios, "LA’s first (and foremost) photo studio compound." Here's what else the studio's website has to say about Smashbox:
Smashbox was founded in 1990 by Davis Factor and Dean Factor (great-grandsons of Hollywood cosmetics legend Max Factor). With two locations in Culver City and West Hollywood, Smashbox’s legendary spaces tout incredible studio size and easy-to-work-in environments. Driven by both style & service, Smashbox has made a name for itself by offering charming client services & studio features. From cyc options, daylight, soundproofing, and pipe grids – to espresso bars, table tennis and cold beers in our Dark Room, Smashbox offers the finest production and event facilities around. And it’s only going to get better. The original Culver City location is slated for an incredible renovation to be complete by early 2013.
