Fiesta La Ballona, Culver City’s annual “Party in the Park”, will be held this year on August 23 - 25, 2013, at Veterans Park, located at 4117 Overland Avenue in Culver City.  The weekend will feature carnival rides and games, live performances, more than 100 booths featuring artisan wares, vendors and local groups, a petting zoo and pony rides, a beer and wine garden, and more. Admission to Fiesta La Ballona is free.  Live entertainment on the stage is also free. Food, drinks and other attractions cost extra.  

Fiesta La Ballona event hours are:

4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23;

11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24; 

10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25.  

Carnival ride tickets are $1.00 each with volume discounts.  Each ride varies in number of tickets required with many needing 4-5 tickets per ride. 

There will be live performances all weekend at the Entertainment Tent, and many other attractions and activities throughout the Fiesta weekend.  On Friday, August 23, seniors can enjoy several early bird special offers between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Food Court and from some of the food trucks.  On Saturday, Essential Chocolate Desserts will host an ice cream eating contest at 4:00 p.m. The Culver City Historical Society will present its Fiesta La Ballona 2013 Costume Celebration and Competition on Sunday, August 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Entertainment Tent. The contest commemorates Culver City’s early California heritage. 

The Exchange Club’s Beer & Wine Garden returns to Fiesta and will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  If visitors come hungry to Fiesta, food trucks and Food Court booths will be offering plenty of options to satisfy anyone’s appetite including a variety of BBQ, cuisine from across the world from Mexico to Indonesia, classic American fare such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and chili, sandwiches of all kinds, organic and vegan items, pizza, and many desserts and sweets.
