Actors' Gang Brings "Twelfth Night" to the Park in Culver City

Every Saturday and Sunday in August at 11:00 am in Media Park in Culver City, the Actors' Gang Theatre will present a kid-friendly version of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. These productions are always a lot of fun, full of music and tomfoollery -- the kids love them. Last August, for example, the troupe put on The Tempest: Star Wars Edition, which featured Obi Wan Kenobi as Prospero, Princess Leia as Miranda, C3P0 as Ariel, and Jabba the Hutt as Caliban.

Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare's most underrated plays -- sharing Romeo and Juliet's unabashed romanticism and lightning poetics (without all that nasty suicide). Of course, seeing Violet played by Wonder Woman and Duke Orsino by Batman (just guessing here), will certainly add a completely new dimension to the piece.
