The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Every once in a while all the stars seem to line up, and many of the galleries in Culver City's art district decide to have openings on the same Saturday night. This saturday is one of those times.
This week, I've already talked about new shows at Angles Gallery and Luis De Jesus Gallery. Now I received news that Nye + Brown, Blum & Poe, and George Billis Gallery are also hosting artists openings that are, as always, free, open to the public, and fun.
Nye + Brown is hosting an opening for their show, "Divine Gluttony," featuring artists Jon Gomez and Kaylan George. The reception on Saturday is from 6 to 8 pm, and Nye + Brown is located at 2685 S. La Cienega Blvd.
Blum & Poe is hosting an opening reception for its show of work by Freidrich Kunath from 6 to 8 pm. Blum & Poe is located at 2727 S. La Cienega. Here's an example of Kunath's dreamy new work:
And George Billis is offering recent paintings by Wes Hempel and Bryan Ida. The artists reception is on Saturday from 5 to 8 pm, and George Billis Gallery is located at 2716 S. La Cienega Blvd. Here's an example of Hempel's work:
