The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
The Culver City Arts District will hold its first annual Summer Solstice event on Saturday, June 21, from 12 pm to 7 pm. The Summer Solstice event will celebrate the longest day of the year with a free self-guided tour of art galleries, musical performances throughout the day at various venues, children’s arts and crafts and special discounts at several area restaurants and retail.
As parking in the area is limited, guests are encouraged to carpool or take public transportation to the event. In fact, the Arts District is located quite near to the the Culver City Expo Stop, to the east. Metro riders will receive special Destination Discounts at several restaurants and shops throughout the district when they show their TAP card. In addition, Culver CityBus will be offering a special $1 bus fare for guests that will allow unlimited travel between Downtown Culver City and Fairfax Avenue from 12 pm – 7 pm. Guests may board the bus at participating Culver CityBus stops and purchase bus passes from the driver on the day of the event.
Parking for the Summer Solstice event is available in Downtown Culver City parking structures with limited parking at the Helms Bakery Complex, the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, the Goodyear Plaza and along Washington Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd. Guests are advised to refrain from parking in the residential area surrounding the Culver City Art District.
