Culver City will Close Ballona Creek Bike Path for Repairs Next Week

The Culver CIty Public Works Department has scheduled the closure of the Ballona Creek Bike Path between Overland Avenue and National Boulevard from Monday, March 23, to Friday, March 27, between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm for maintenance. Maintenance, in this case, means:

Removal of graffiti along the embankment adjacent to the bike path
Repair of cracked pavement
Removal of dead trees and pruning of low-hanging vegetation
Thermo-plastic of street names on the pavement of the bike path

On that site you can make a general query or comment about anything -- and my experience has been that the city is pretty responsive. You can also contact individual members of the Culver City Council on THIS page. (The wonderful) Mayor Meghan Sahli-Wells has a particular interest in biking.

Comment by Tony Gaimari on March 24, 2015 at 8:47am: I saw the crew working yesterday morning but when I came back I was very disappointed in their idea of "repair". All they seem to be doing is rounding off the sharp edges on the path's cracks. They are not making them very "ramp-like" to make the ride smother. I suppose it's better than nothing but not really much of an improvement. Who can we contact to provide feedback about this project?
