Culver City Comes Up Big Winner on National Taco Day

Where can you get the best taco in Los Angeles? According to recent LA Weekly article by Elina Shatkin, you can get two out of the five best tacos in Culver City! Or rather, they are the city's best "gringo tacos' -- "the hard-shell, crispy or white man's taco."

The article sites both Pancho's Tacos (the Culver City location is at 9609 Venice Blvd.) and Johnnie's Pastrami as offering the best tacos in the city. Shatkin called the Johnnie's taco "a sweet, savory, crisp concerto." Wow!

Have you tried the split chili dog sandwich at Johnnies? I'm just sayin'!

I couldn't agree more, but I think the key here is the "gringo taco" designation. Somehow Tito's are more authentic?? I would say that writer Elina Shatkin has her tongue firmly in her cheek here. Or somebody's cheek anyway...

Titos Tacos beats Johnnies Pastrami by far!
