Last week the Los Angeles Times featured an examination of the automobile industry that featured some interesting quotes from 55-year-old Culver City mechanic Bob Little of Ed Little Auto Service Inc.
The premise of the piece is that it's a good time to be a mechanic because in tough economic times people hold onto their older cars longer, "making repairs that in better times might have spurred a new vehicle purchase."
Says Little in the article:
“The past three years have been the best three years ever. The economy has not hurt me at all — at all. It has helped. People aren’t buying new cars. They’ll put a couple thousand dollars into a car before they buy a new one.”

Ed LIttle Auto Service is located at 4318 Sepulveda Boulevard, just south of Culver Boulevard.
