Culver City Symphony To Perform Works by Arvo Part and Schubert this Saturday

The Culver City Symphony will perform this Saturday, February 22, at 8:00 pm at the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium. The program is unique in that it will feature concertos for both the viola and for the bass in one concert. The works will include:

Handel/Casadesus: Concerto for Viola (1924?), Benjamin Chilton-Viola

Haydn: Cello Concerto No. 1, C Major, Hob. VIIb/1 (1761-65), Will Cravy-Bass
(Arranged for Bass by Will Cravy)

Pärt: Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten (1977-80)

Schubert: Symphony No. 5, Bflat Major (1816)

Admission is $10 -- and $5 for those 17 years of age and under.

Members of the Westchester Symphony Society receive two free admissions to up to three concerts except for the last concert, are entitled to reserved concert seating, and to a pre-concert talk given by Conductor Fetta. Membership is available at the concert.
