Eat Real Festival: A Smashing Success

An estimated 23,000 citizens of Culver City and surrounding environs, dropped by the Helms Bakery District on Saturday and Sunday for the Eat Real Festival.

My wife and I rode our bikes to the Helm Bakery District at about lunch time on Saturday. We enjoyed a rich, gourmet grilled cheese sandwich and baby spinach salad from the Old Vine Cafe as well as amazing, hot, made-to-order chocolate bread pudding from Creme Caramel LA. We drank our fill of cool water throughout the festival, courtesy of U.S. Pure Water. Great idea, folks!

We also took in a couple of fun food and craft demonstrations, including one about how to make bread sticks and one that explained where particular cuts of meat originate on the animal:

Fun. right? People really seemed to enjoy the Beer Garden area, which was perfectly situated to allow guests to watch the live entertainment on the festival's main stage.

It really was fantastic to hang out with so many happy people from the community. Congratulations to all involved with the Eat Real Festival and the Helms Bakery District!
