Expo Line from Culver City to Santa Monica Now Open

It's finally happening. Starting today, May 20, you can ride from Culver City (or from downtown LA if you want to look at it that way) to Santa Monica.

Go ride it now! Or if you want to get a sneak peek at how it feels to take the train to Santa Monica, click on the video above. Whee!

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 21st, the Culver City and Metro will host a community celebration at the Culver City Expo Station to commemorate the grand opening.  The event is free and open to the public.  Grab your family and friends and enjoy a day of food, music and children’s activities from 10 am to 4 pm at the Culver City Expo Station located at 8804 Washington Boulevard!  Metro will be offering free rides along the Expo Line throughout the day!

Funding for the Expo Line extension was provided in large part by Measure R, a half-cent sales tax increase approved by Los Angeles County voters in 2008. Good job, us!
