Tonight! Eleven Galleries in Culver City's Art District Celebrate New Shows

This Saturday (tonight), between 6 and 8 p.m., eleven galleries in Culver City's Art District will celebrate the openings of new shows. These openings are free and open to the public -- and are always great places to see some amazing contemporary art, have a couple of plastic cups of cheap white wine, and people-watch.

All the galleries are within a couple of blocks of one another, so it's easy and fun to check out all the shows in a couple of hours. Here's a great map that you can print out to help you negotiate the terrain.

The participating galleries tonight include:

Blum & Poe

Blythe Projects

Cardwell/Jimmerson

Cherry and Martin

Honor Fraser

Emma Gray

JK Gallery

Kopeikin

LaBasse Projects

Walter Maciel, and

Thinkspace

Be sure not to miss the opening reception for artist Andrew Hem at LaBasse Projects. As you may remember, Hem painted the newest mural in Culver City, at National and Washington.
