The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Both LA Eater and the LA Weekly are excited about the coming of Red Bread to Culver City -- to a storefront at 13322 Washington Blvd just west of Foster's Freeze. Both publications seem to know owners Rose and David Lawrence from their booth at the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market -- and they are excited the Lawrence's wares will be available all week long at a brick-and-mortar location.
LA Eater, which calls the company a "the social justice slow food eGrocer and farmers market bake stand" (LA Weekly calls them a "lacto-fermented, sourdough-infused, social justice-spiced bakery/market/community space") says that the store will stock "local artisan products and house-made pickles, yogurt, cheese, and ice cream...organic house-baked goods and sweets from wild yeast sourdough bread... jammy newton cookies...and chili pepper marshmallow clouds."
At night, the Lawrences plan to offer cooking, baking, preserving, and charcuterie classes as well as occasional pop-up dinners.
