This Saturday, November 15, the Culver City Veterans Auditorium will be home to a doubleheader of roller derby action: Shore Shots & Road Ragers vs. West Coast Derby Knockouts.

The Angel City Derby Girls are a group of women now in their 9th season that have come together purely out of the love of the sport. Some of the athletes have chosen names like Chica Go Lightning, Mickispeedia, Shunami Bomb, AlbaToss and AC Slaughter, to embrace the kitsch of the old-style of roller derby by paying homage to the legacy of skaters who often adopted pseudonyms or nicknames. Despite the witty names, we are serious about the modern incarnation of the sport! ACDG is entirely volunteer-run, skater-owned and operated organization, and is one of the most competitive programs in the West. Your support of our all-ages events brings a new and exciting option to Culver City’s nightlife that is both sport and entertainment all rolled into one.
