Every other Friday, I post a picture of something in Culver City that is 'hiding in plain sight.' Two weeks ago I asked: Do you know where in Culver City this orb is?
Culver City Times member Chris Grossman not only knew the answer was the Pacific Theatres in downtown Culver City, he shared the excellent photo above. Beautiful job, Chris.
Here's what the Center for Land Use Interpretation has to say about the building: "Downsized from its originally proposed 24 screens, this 12-plex movie theater, built from scratch in retro-deco style, opened in 2003, the anchor of Culver City’s Town Plaza redevelopment plan. This movie theater is also notable as having the first fully-automated movie box-office in the state of California." Well, it's not fully automated any more, but...
