Three Culver City Students Recognized for their Water-Themed Art

Fifteen local art contest winners whose artwork highlighted the importance of conserving water were recognized by the West Basin Municipal Water District on April 28, 2014. Out of the 470 entrees, three of the winners hailed from Culver City, including:

  • Elementary School Honorable Mention Award: Nyala Bingener, a 4th grader from El Marino Elementary School
  • Middle School Honorable Mention Award: Erin Marble, a 7th grader from Culver City Middle School
  • High School Honorable Mention Award: Adriana Marble, a 9th grader from Culver City High School

As part of West Basin’s program to foster the awareness of water conservation -- particularly during a time of drought -- the 2014 Water is Life Student Art Contest was designed to encourage students to create a water conservation message and illustrate it with original, hand-created artwork. The honorable mention awardees received an iPad2 and Top 10 list of art apps for kids.
