The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Every other friday, I'll post a picture of something in Culver City that is 'hiding in plain sight.'
This time, the question is: Do you know where in Culver CIty this swirl of color is? If you know, enter your response in the comments! I'll reveal the answer in two Fridays, when I post a new game.
Last time, I posted this charming hand-painted sign:
This sign is actually on the front of MGM Auto Body at 11039 Washington Blvd. If the Yelp recommendations are to be believed, you should definitely to there next time you need work.
There's actually quite a great sign right above it, too, complete with a time and temperature display. Not to mention that cool-looking globe on the top with a drawing of a motorcycle on it. Great!

Ah yes, as Councilman Jeff Cooper recently pointed out, this building at Hughes & Washington is not technically in Culver City. Still, as you say, it's definitely part of our landscape. And since it seems that the building is likely to come down soon, I figured I had better featuring it sooner rather than later! Good spotting Catherine, and I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the game!
RE: Game 019 - Hughes & Washington - Ed Massey art
This is such a great idea for a weekly contest and fun to try and spot hidden gems in our city. This time around I wonder if this was this a trick question? The building & art in question are just across the border from Culver City & the Sony bldg but have definitely been part of our landscape.
