Fullscreen, the multi-channel YouTube network has raised $30 million in a new found of funding from The Chernin Group and Comcast. Fullscreen is located within Culver Studios (Building K). With Fullscreen and Maker's Studio, Culver CIty is gaining recognition as a center in the new but rapidly growing world of YouTube-delivered entertainment content.
Fullscreen was founded in January 2011 by George Strompolos, who previously helped create and develop YouTube’s Partnership Program. Recognizing that online video would soon become a viable alternative to TV and cable, Strompolos founded Fullscreen with the goal of becoming the first great media company built on YouTube. Fullscreen now employs more than 80 people.
For example, Fullscreen has worked with NBC to grow from operating and managing 2 channels to managing 14 across the YouTube platform. Fullscreen provides consulting and 24/7 operations for NBC's hub channel on YouTube, as well as for The Tonight Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,Guys with Kids, Animal Practice, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, Jay Leno’s Garage, Smash, Grimm, Revolution, The New Normal, Go On and Chicago Fire.
