Artist Eric Fortune's new show, "A Life to Leave" -- flowing and color-saturated paintings -- opens at LaBasse Projects in Culver City this Saturday, July 14th. The opening reception is from 6 pm to 9 pm, and, as always, the public is welcome.
"Fortune’s soft but riveting lighting effects are produced with a technique called ‘glazing’ -- a time-consuming process in which a thin layer of acrylic is laid down, left to dry — and then the process is repeated, over and over again," says LaBasse Projects website about Fortune's work. "This method has a wonderful payoff, for it allows Fortune to infuse his artistry into the most subtle details of each painting."
The show runs until July 30th. LaBasse Projects is located at 6023 Washington Boulevard.
