Pets in Culver City Safer From Fire Today

With help from the Emma Zen Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on pet safety, long-time Culver City residents William Gamble and Kathy Weaver have donated TEAM O2 pet oxygen masks kits for each of Culver City's fire vehicles -- making it possible for every pet ("dogs, cats, birds, and other household size pets") in Culver City to have a better chance of survival if faced with a home fire. The Emma Zen Foundation will also be providing training in the use of the equipment and in pet resuscitation.

What do we think of this idea?

Pets are so very important to those who own them, of course. But is it it a good idea for our Culver City fire fighters to take on the additional burden, equipment, and training to deal with people's pets in an emergency? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
