Guitar Legend Albert Lee To Play in Downtown Culver City

Every Thursday evening this summer at 7 p.m., the Culver City Redevelopment Agency is hosting a free concert in the courtyard of Culver City City Hall at 9770 Culver Blvd. Tonight is guitar legend Albert Lee.

Known for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique, this guy can really play. I'm not the only one to think so. He's the five-time winner of Guitar Player magazine’s “Best Country Guitar Picker.” Lee's song "Country Boy" (below) helped to redefine country guitar for a whole generation of players.

The Carl Verheyen Band will back guitar legend Lee. Verheyen -- who lives in Topanga Canyon -- has been lead guitarist for the band Supertramp since 1985 and is one of L.A.’s top session guitarists.
