First Walk of the New Year

I wanted to start the year off right, with a walk through my favorite town in Los Angeles,  Culver City.  Not much happening this morning most business closed for the holiday but a few were ready and open forcutomers..  As I walked I reflected on the end of another holiday season in Culver City.  The lights that were strung with care will be coming down all too soon in my mind.  I love the holiday lights and decorations that the residents put up annually so glad to see the holiday spirit…

The California State Supreme Court has upheld the legality of ABx1-26 -- California Governor Jerry Brown's bill to abolish redevelopment agencies statewide. The move puts at risk many Culver City projects that are funded all or in part by the city's redevelopment agency.

Former Culver City Councilman Soctt Malsin attributed much of the city's revitalization over…

1) Parcel B as an Empty Lot

Now that Combined Properties has been selected as the developer to create downtown Culver City's newest building, they'll likely be breaking ground some time in 2012. I'm hopeful that Culver City will be getting a great new building. But I must admit that I will be sorry to lose the big, open…

It's Christmas in Culver City, and the decorations are out. I can't decide whether I prefer the houses that are completely decked out or the ones with one sagging string. I took all of these pictures on the morning, afternoon, evening, and night of December 22, 2011.

Do you have a favorite, or is there one on your block that you love? Post a…
