Shoes for the Homeless -- a non-profit organization founded by local podiatrist Ira Diamond that provides "gently used" and new shoes free of charge to the homeless -- has organized one of its semi-regular "shoe processing" date for this Saturday, May 17th from 3-4 pm. The Annual Cruisin' Back to the 50's Culver City Car Show is this Saturday, May 10th, from 9 am to 3 pm. As in the last nine years, downtown Culver City (Culver & Washington Blvds. between Duquesne and Ince Ave.) will be shut down to display hundreds of classic cars and hot rods from all across California. On April 22nd, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors authorized the County Public Works Department to move forward with the construction of Stoneview Nature Center in the Blair Hills area of Culver City.
