Every other Friday, I'll post a picture of something in Culver City that is 'hiding in plain sight.'

This time, the question is: Do you know where in Culver City this hairdo is? If you know, enter your response in the comments box of this post! I'll reveal the answer in two weeks, on Thursday. Then the next day, I'll post a new game.…

The Sony Rainbow is Going Up

Tony Tasset's Rainbow  -- nine stories tall and spanning 188 feet -- is currently being installed on the Sony Pictures lot. The piece was created from welded steel, clad with aluminum panels, and finished with resin-based paint in, well, every color of the rainbow. The installation process is expected to take about 8 weeks.

How do we feel about it, now that it's going in? It is bit more difficult to see than I hoped.... The best view is on Culver…

Carmageddon II Coming to Culver City This Weekend

This weekend, the 405 Freeway will be closed for 53 hours -- beginning Friday, September 28, at 7 pm and ending on Monday, October 1, at 5 am. Like last July, this year's Carmageddon will close the 405 for 10 miles from the 10 to the 101, as workers demolish the north side of the Mulholland Bridge to widen the freeway and add a carpool lane.

Last year, of course, all the hubbub about brain-curdling traffic…

Blind Barber of Culver City: One Man's Experience

Blind Barber in Culver City is bit of a curveball. From the outside, it looks like a simple, if sign-less, barber shop. Peek through the window and, sure enough, there's your standard receptionist and a man in one of the barber chairs getting a shave. But there's bit of a secret behind a nondescript door on the back wall: there's a bar back there. Checking the …

Death Star 7-Eleven is Coming to Culver City

This Monday, the Culver City Council voted 4-to-1 to reject an appeal that would have prevented the building of a 7-Eleven convenience store at Sepulveda and Braddock. This wasn't much of a surprise, although no one can say that they didn't give the appeal due process: the meeting lasted until about 1:00 AM.

What was more of a surprise was that somewhere along the…
