Indiecade Festival Coming to Downtown Culver City This Weekend

The Sony Rainbow is Going Up

Tony Tasset's Rainbow  -- nine stories tall and spanning 188 feet -- is currently being installed on the Sony Pictures lot. The piece was created from welded steel, clad with aluminum panels, and finished with resin-based paint in, well, every color of the rainbow. The installation process is expected to take about 8 weeks.

Carmageddon II Coming to Culver City This Weekend

This weekend, the 405 Freeway will be closed for 53 hours -- beginning Friday, September 28, at 7 pm and ending on Monday, October 1, at 5 am. Like last July, this year's Carmageddon will close the 405 for 10 miles from the 10 to the 101, as workers demolish the north side of the Mulholland Bridge to widen the freeway and add a carpool lane.
