Bad news for those who are already grumbling about the overstuffed parking lot at Culver Crossroads (at Sepulveda and Washington): Holy Cow BBQ is now open – and it’s delicious.

Holy Cow isn’t part of a chain, but it doesn’t arise out of nowhere either. There is an additional Holy Cow location in Santa Monica, and Holy Cow’s founder is Rob Serritella, who is also…

Rock Musical Based on Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend" Opens at the Kirk Douglas in Culver City

Ok, this one is kind of crazy in a great way. If you're of a certain age (mine), you may well have fallen in love with a largely unheralded 1991 album by Matthew Sweet. The album is full of classic pop melodies (AllMusic cites "the Beatles, Big Star, Byrds, R.E.M., and Neil Young," and, uh, yeah) as well as soaring guitar leads from Sweet himself as well as guitar gods Robert…

Marina Del Rey Fisherman's Village to Headed Toward a Makeover

As someone who remembers what Fisherman's Village in Marina Del Rey looked like 40 years ago (pretty much exactly the way it does now, folks), I think its redevelopment is a mixed blessing. I can't really tell whether its current shabbiness is charming or depressing -- do I have to choose?

As the latest renderings from Studio One Eleven (a division of P+R…
